The Vitamin Shoppe is dedicated to helping individuals fulfill their health and wellness needs. Founded in 1997, we are a leading multi-channel specialty retailer and contract manufacturer of nutritional products based in North Bergen, New Jersey. In February 2013 we acquired Super Supplements, with 31 stores located in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. We now have over 700 stores throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. In our stores and on our website, we carry one of the most comprehensive retail assortments in the industry including; vitamins, minerals, specialty supplements, herbs, sports nutrition, homeopathic remedies, green living products and beauty aids. In addition to offering 900 national brand products, the Vitamin Shoppe also exclusively carries products under The Vitamin Shoppe®, BodyTech®, True Athlete®, MyTrition®, plntTM, ProBioCareTM and Next StepTM brands. Other proprietary brands include Betancourt and Nutri-Force Sports®. Our broad product offering enables us to provide our customers with a selection of products not readily available at other specialty VMS retailers or mass merchants, such as drugstore chains and supermarkets.
The Health Enthusiasts who work at the Vitamin Shoppe retail stores are the most knowledgeable associates in the industry. The Vitamin Shoppe prides itself on the training and certification of its associates and is recognized as an innovator in associate training, providing product information and customer education.
We sell our products through three business segments: retail, direct and manufacturing. In our retail segment, we have opened a total of 370 new stores from the beginning of Fiscal 2006 through Fiscal 2013.
In June 2014, with the acquisition of Nutri-Force, a contract manufacturing company, we became a vertically integrated company.
We are the second largest in retail sales with over $1 billion in annual revenue, and are one of the fastest growing national Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (VMS) specialty retailers. We have achieved positive comparable store sales for 20 consecutive years (prior to which we did not track comparable store sales).
